Hitchin Craft & Farmers Market 28th May 2016

…… alternatively, why not pay us a visit this coming Saturday (28th May), where we will be selling slightly larger (postal unfriendly) boxes, stuffed with olives. Priced each at £4.30, small compensation for our efforts. All proceeds will contribute to bringing in next year’s harvest. We’ll also be selling generous proportions of olive leaves, so you can brew your own ‘olive leaf tea’, at £3.00 per bag. Enjoy.

See you there, from 8:30 am. till 3:30 pm.

What are ‘tree olives’?

tree olive” is the name we have given to the naturally-cured raw olives we produce at our small Mediterranean farm.

Tree olives are nothing more than shriveled up raw olives.

They undergo NO heat treatment.

They are NOT pasteurized.

The curing process DOES NOT expose the olive to chemicals, powders, or processing agents.

Tree olives are UNSALTED.

Tree olives are 100% pure.

Tree olives are 100% whole-food.

Tree olives look similar to olives which fall to the ground and remain there. Fallen olives rot away naturally. If you catch them right these are perfectly edible too. Fallen olives are characterized by an earthy and moldy taste. They are typically very dry indeed, but they are perfectly edible. Fallen olives have never made me sick.

-but rest assured:

Tree olives are NOT fallen olives.

Tree Olives are cured through naturally occurring biological tanning events.

We set up the conditions by which that event can occur.

“tree olives” is the most appropriate term for unprocessed raw edible olives.

Hi, we are tree olives ! We came from a tree - not a factory.
